Suvendu Adhikari will be sworn in as the first BJP Chief Minister of West Bengal today at Brigade Parade Ground in Kolkata.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, senior BJP leaders, Union ministers, and NDA chief ministers are expected to attend the ceremony.

Adhikari was unanimously elected BJP Legislature Party leader yesterday in the presence of Amit Shah. He later staked claim to form the government before Governor R.N. Ravi.

The BJP’s victory ended TMC’s 15-year rule in the state. Celebrations broke out in Nandigram and Purba Medinipur with processions and festivities.
