Apple Discontinues $599 Mac Mini; Entry Price Now $799

Apple has quietly removed the $599 base Mac mini from its website, raising the entry price to $799 — which now comes with 512GB of storage instead of 256GB.

The change comes amid severe supply shortages, with CEO Tim Cook citing “higher-than-expected demand” driven largely by interest in AI and agentic tools. Delivery times for higher-end configurations currently stretch 10–12 weeks.

Budget buyers will now pay $200 more for a new Mac mini, though with double the storage. Those in no rush may find better availability later this summer, or can explore refurbished options.
