U.S. President Donald Trump departed Beijing on Friday after completing a two-day official visit to China, where he held key discussions with Chinese President Xi Jinping on trade, regional security, Taiwan, and global economic cooperation.
The visit included bilateral meetings, ceremonial events, and closed-door discussions aimed at improving ties between the two countries amid rising geopolitical tensions. While both sides described the talks as constructive, no major agreements were officially announced.
During the meetings, China reportedly reiterated its stance on Taiwan and called for stable relations with the United States. Trump also emphasized economic cooperation and potential future trade progress.
Before leaving Beijing aboard Air Force One, Trump attended a final round of informal talks and a working lunch with Chinese officials. The visit is being seen as an important diplomatic engagement between the world’s two largest economies.
