Putin expressed willingness to negotiate new European security arrangements and named former German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder as his preferred partner for talks. The remarks come as a US-brokered three-day ceasefire, announced by President Donald Trump, took effect with both Russia and Ukraine agreeing to exchange 1,000 prisoners.
