The US has announced sanctions on 10 individuals and companies, including several in China and Hong Kong, for allegedly helping Iran procure weapons and raw materials for Shahed drones and ballistic missiles.
The Treasury Department said it will continue targeting Iran’s military-industrial base and any foreign entities supporting it. The move comes ahead of President Trump’s meeting with China’s President Xi Jinping.
Iran has the capacity to produce around 10,000 drones per month. The sanctions aim to disrupt Tehran’s ability to threaten shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.
