IRCTC Launches Upgraded Golden Chariot Luxury Train for 2026-27 Season

Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has announced the launch of the upgraded Golden Chariot luxury train for the 2026-27 tourist season with enhanced onboard facilities and special promotional offers.

Known for showcasing the cultural heritage and scenic beauty of South India, the Golden Chariot now features redesigned interiors, upgraded cabins with plush furnishings, smart TVs, and Wi-Fi-enabled entertainment systems. Passenger safety has also been strengthened with CCTV surveillance and advanced fire alarm systems.

The luxury train can host up to 80 guests across 40 cabins, including double-bed, twin-bed, and specially designed cabins for differently abled passengers.

IRCTC has introduced three curated itineraries for the new season. The six-day “Pride of Karnataka” tour covers Bengaluru, Mysuru, Hampi, and Goa. The “Jewels of South” route includes Mysuru, Mahabalipuram, Thanjavur, and Cochin, while the shorter “Glimpses of Karnataka” offers a four-day heritage journey through Karnataka’s iconic destinations.
