AIIMS Delhi has launched India’s first portable bedside MRI system, allowing brain imaging for critically ill patients directly in ICUs and emergency settings — without the need for dedicated MRI suites or patient transfers.
The ultra-low-field device is already in use at the Centre for Neurological Conditions and is expected to improve diagnosis in stroke, trauma, paediatrics, and post-operative neurosurgical care. Backed by regulatory approval and supported by Radiosurgery Global, the system is set to expand access to brain imaging and advance point-of-care neurodiagnostics across India.
